My work questions the themes of Identity and Ritual – and explores the interaction between these two subjects. The current works here explores the rituals that are still practiced today and primal beliefs that still emerges in a present-day society.

I habitually start by questioning practices that my family members who originally hail from that same part of the world. Reconstructing interpretations of these ceremonies from my Filipino background – illustrating a range of intimate practices to painting everyday beliefs. I use a combination of drawings and collages to create a playful visual language appearing vague and dream-like.

Since graduating from Gray’s School of Art, multiple works have been exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy SSA|VAS Open exhibition where received the Stem Award for Figurative Art. This year I exhibited at the Mall Galleries, FBA Futures 2020 in London and then RSA New Contemporaries 2020 in Edinburgh.
